Des Moines, Iowa — Tech Journey, a Des Moines, Iowa-based nonprofit with a mission to
empower students by giving them access to technology, is excited to host its seventh annual
Tech Camp. The camp will be held Tuesday, July 23 through Friday, July 26 at Des Moines’
Central Campus.

“Our desire is to inspire students to engage with and explore technology. We commit to a
journey with the students, hoping they will further their education or choose a career in a
computer-related field” Tech Journey Executive Director Tim Sieber says.

The nonprofit’s annual Tech Camp provides students who might not otherwise have access to
technology a chance to learn a variety of programming languages from industry professionals
with years of real-world experience. This year more than 100 Des Moines students will come
together to learn an array of programming languages, dip their toes into the world of robotics,
spend time at Area515 Des Moines Maker Space, and learn the Agile methodology while
working on a business project.

At the end of this year’s camp, 16 Tech Journey students will complete the five-year program
and be celebrated during an open house from 1 – 3 pm on Friday, July 26. The public is
welcome to attend the event at Central Campus, 1800 Grand Avenue in Des Moines.
