DESCRIPTION:While many of us cringe at the thought of self-driving cars\, the reality of robots is upon us. From applications in agriculture and manufacturing to healthcare\, military and public safety\, robots are used in many industries and the applications aren’t slowing down. There is no question the next generation will be a big part of the ongoing growth of robotics! \nReady Set Robot! is an enrichment experience for youth age 8 and above to learn basics about robotics. At this fun\, hands-on workshop\, students receive a brief overview of robotics and then spend time working to program a robot in a safe and supportive environment. Experience with a keyboard and mouse as well as experience with block-based coding helpful\, but not required. Parents are encouraged to attend this workshop with their student(s). \nSeats are limited and registration is required through the Valley Community Center.

No prior experience is needed but familiarity with a computer keyboard and mouse is helpful.
